Category: LED Screen Indoor

Pitch : 3.9 mm

Description

The GHOST DOT 2000 is the circular transparent screen two metres in diameter — 3.14 m² of surface, roughly 103,000 pixels. It is the diameter where things tip: below it the disc is a decorative object; from two metres it becomes an element of interior architecture.

Two metres, the scale of the body

A two-metre disc is taller than a person. You no longer look at it as an object placed somewhere; you walk past it, around it, you see its back. From this scale transparency starts to mean something: you read the image and what lies behind it at once, because both fill the field of view.

It is also the first diameter that supports viewing at the right distance. The 7.8125 mm vertical pitch needs 13.4 metres for the grid to disappear — a two-metre disc in a lobby or gallery is naturally seen from about that far.

Specifications

Pitch of 3.9 × 7.81 mm, density of 32,768 pixels per square metre, SMD1921 LEDs, 2,500 nits, 3,840 Hz refresh, 140° / 140° viewing angle, average consumption 240 W/m² against an 800 W/m² peak — about 750 W in normal operation at this diameter.

Suspended, and seen from both sides

This is the format's natural installation: hung in a volume, visible from all around. Three things follow.

Rigging. A suspended disc rotates if nothing stops it. Two rigging points rather than one, or a single point with bottom stabilisation — otherwise the screen turns slowly with air movement, which is striking once and tiresome thereafter.

Cabling. Power and signal run down or up to the disc. On an object seen through 360°, cable routing is part of the design: it is settled with the rigging, not afterwards.

The rear face. A transparent screen has no hidden back. What you see from behind is the mirrored image and the structure. That is planned at content design stage — a symmetrical motif copes, text does not.

Composing on a circle

No corners, so no anchor for a rectangular composition. What works: circular movement, abstract texture, a centred motif, breathing colour. On black, since a black pixel lets you see through — that is where the effect happens, and what keeps consumption at a third of the peak.

Position in the range

The GHOST DOT 2500 and GHOST DOT 3000 scale up presence for large volumes. The GHOST DOT 1500 stays handleable by two people. For a flat surface on the same technical platform, see the GHOST 3.9 – 7.8.

Technical Expertise

State-of-the-Art LED Engineering

SMD1921 Technology and Refresh Performance

The GHOST DOT 2000 utilizes high-grade SMD1921 (Surface Mounted Device) LED technology. These diodes are specifically selected for their wide viewing angles and exceptional color uniformity. By housing the Red, Green, and Blue chips within a single package, the module achieves perfect color blending even at close proximity, ensuring that your content looks flawless from every angle.

High Refresh Rate and Visual Stability

Equipped with a 3840Hz refresh rate, the GHOST DOT 2000 eliminates flickering and scan lines, making it "camera-ready" for broadcast environments and social media capture. A high refresh rate is critical for maintaining fluid motion transparency and preventing eye fatigue during prolonged viewing. Combined with a high contrast ratio, these modules deliver deep blacks and vivid highlights, creating a truly immersive experience.

Reliability and Heat Dissipation

At Pixelight, we emphasize thermal management. The GHOST DOT 2000 is designed with efficient heat dissipation pathways to protect the internal components and extend the lifespan of the diodes. This focus on engineering reliability ensures that the 2500 nits brightness levels can be maintained without compromising the integrity of the SMD components over time.

Use Cases

Versatile Indoor Deployments

The GHOST DOT 2000 is a versatile solution designed for diverse indoor applications where standard LED panels may fall short of brightness requirements. Common installation scenarios include:

  • Retail Window Displays: Cutting through reflections from sunlight to engage passersby with high-brightness promotional content.
  • Corporate Lobbies: Creating large-scale digital brand walls that remain crisp and vivid under intense overhead architectural lighting.
  • Exhibition & Trade Shows: Building standout booths that attract attention in competitive, high-light environments.
  • Transportation Hubs: Delivering clear flight or train information in airports and stations where visibility from a distance is a safety requirement.
  • Television Studios: Utilizing the high refresh rate to ensure high-fidelity backgrounds during live broadcasts.

Technical Tips

Technical Optimization and Maintenance

To maximize the performance of your GHOST DOT 2000 installation, our technical team recommends the following best practices:

  • Brightness Calibration: While the 2500 nits capacity is ideal for daytime visibility, we recommend using an ambient light sensor to automatically scale brightness during evening hours to maintain optimal contrast and save energy.
  • Controller Configuration: Ensure your LED processor is configured to utilize the full 3840Hz refresh rate. Periodically update your RCFG (receiving card configuration) files to maintain color accuracy.
  • Environment Control: Despite its high brightness, ensure the indoor environment remains within the recommended temperature range to prevent thermal throttling.
  • Maintenance Access: Always allow for adequate ventilation space behind the module structure to facilitate natural airflow and ease of secondary service.

Frequently Asked Questions
