Category: LED Screen Indoor

Pitch : 3.9 mm

Description

The GHOST DOT 1000 is the smallest circular transparent LED screen in the range: one metre in diameter, or 0.79 m² of surface. It is the only format that fits a standard shop window, and the one that hangs without a structural study.

The format that makes round accessible

A three-metre disc needs a volume, ceiling height and a properly sized rigging point. A one-metre disc goes anywhere: behind a shop window, above a counter, in the corner of a showroom, at the centre of an exhibition stand. It is the format that lets you test the effect before committing to a full scenography.

Specifications

Pitch of 3.9 × 7.81 mm, density of 32,768 pixels per square metre, roughly 25,700 pixels across the disc. SMD1921 LEDs, 2,500 nits, 3,840 Hz refresh, 140° / 140° viewing angle.

The 240 W/m² average consumption here amounts to under 200 W in normal operation — about two light bulbs. Across an estate of shop windows, that is an operating argument as much as an installation one.

The constraint to know before ordering

The 7.8125 mm vertical pitch governs viewing distance, not the 3.9 mm in the name. Comfort distance is 13.4 metres. Yet a one-metre disc is almost always viewed close up — in a shop window, passers-by are two or three metres away.

So you have to accept what this format really is: a luminous object, not an information screen. Close up you see the strips and read a moving coloured texture, not a detailed image. That is exactly what a window animation is after, and exactly what disappoints if you expected legible display.

What works on this format

Movement rather than message. A rotating texture, a wave, a halo, a breathing colour, an organic shape. On black, since a black pixel does not emit and lets you see through.

What does not work: text, a detailed logo, cropped video. At this scale and distance they will be illegible.

Position in the range

For genuinely detailed viewing you need distance, and therefore diameter: the GHOST DOT 2500 or GHOST DOT 3000, seen from over thirteen metres. For a shop window where the image must stay legible close up, a disc is not the answer — a poster is: the GLASSTEC range comes down to a 6-metre comfort distance.

Technical Expertise

Technical Excellence and Visual Stability

As a leading wholesaler, Pixelight prioritizes structural reliability and visual performance. The GHOST DOT 1000 utilizes high-grade SMD1921 (Surface Mounted Device) technology, known for its robust thermal management and superior color consistency across the entire display surface. Unlike standard entry-level modules, our SMD configuration provides a wide horizontal and vertical viewing angle, ensuring that luminosity and color remain stable from any perspective.

High Refresh Rate and Image Integrity

To meet the demands of modern digital environments, the GHOST DOT 1000 features a professional-grade refresh rate of 3840Hz. This high frequency is critical for:

  • Eliminating scan lines and flickering during video capture (ideal for broadcast and social media content).
  • Ensuring smooth transitions for high-speed motion graphics.
  • Reducing eye fatigue for viewers in prolonged exposure environments.

While many indoor modules offer lower brightness, the 2500 nits output of this series bridges the gap between traditional indoor displays and semi-outdoor requirements, providing a high dynamic range (HDR) capable of cutting through glare.

Use Cases

Versatile Application Scenarios

The unique form factor and high-brightness characteristics of the GHOST DOT 1000 make it ideal for a variety of high-end indoor installations:

  • Retail Storefronts: Its 2500 nits brightness makes it powerful enough to compete with sunlight in window displays while maintaining indoor-quality resolution.
  • Architectural Accents: Use the dot-matrix flexibility to wrap around columns or integrate into custom-shaped wall features in corporate lobbies.
  • Boutique Showrooms: Perfect for luxury brands requiring high-contrast displays to showcase product details with precision.
  • Theatrical & Stage Design: Lightweight and easy to configure for creative scenery where traditional LED panels are too heavy or rigid.
  • Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH): Reliable for 24/7 advertising in transit hubs, ensuring high visibility regardless of internal lighting conditions.

Technical Tips

Technical Maintenance and Integration Tips

To maximize the lifespan and performance of your GHOST DOT 1000 installation, our technical team recommends the following best practices:

  • Power Supply Loading: Ensure that power distribution units (PDUs) are calculated with a 20% safety margin to prevent voltage drops and protect the internal IC drivers.
  • Controller Calibration: Utilize high-end Novastar or Colorlight processing to fine-tune the grayscale and gamma curves, especially when operating at lower brightness levels.
  • Maintenance Access: Design your support structure to allow for rear or front-service access depending on the specific module mounting system used.
  • Viewing Distance: Given the DOT configuration, calculate your optimal viewing distance to ensure the human eye perceives a continuous image rather than individual pixels.
  • Thermal Management: Maintain adequate airflow behind the modules to prevent heat buildup, which ensures long-term color uniformity and prevents LED aging.
