Technical Expertise
NovaStar VIT_4×HDMI2.0 IN + 3×HDMI2.0 OUT — technical analysis
The point not to get wrong: this is a switching matrix, not a scaler. The official documentation is explicit — the output resolution is the same as the selected input resolution. This card routes signals, it does not resize them. If the project needs a source scaled to a different screen resolution, a video processor is required downstream.
That said, in a conference room or a showroom, routing is exactly what is asked: four sources — a control PC, a guest laptop, a player, a camera — to three destinations — the main screen, a return and a recorder. All driven from the same tablet as the lighting and the blinds, which is the Vunit promise.
Use Cases
- Conference rooms — routing four sources to the screen, a return and a recorder.
- Showrooms and demo rooms — switching driven from the same interface as the room.
- Auditoriums — multiple sources, multiple destinations.
- Equipped meeting rooms — control PC and guest laptop.
- Vunit 3000 extension — adds video switching to room control.
Technical Tips
- Matrix, not scaler — output resolution follows the selected input: plan a processor downstream if scaling is needed.
- 4 inputs to 3 outputs — count sources and destinations before validating.
- 4K at 60 Hz — in and out, with HDMI 1.4a and 1.3 backward compatibility.
- Separate audio output — 3.5 mm jack, useful for room sound.
- Extension card — requires a Vunit 3000 chassis with the main control card.
