Description

The GLASSTEC 2.8 – 5.2 is the most discreet transparent LED poster in the range: 60 % transparency, on the same 1,000 × 2,000 mm aluminium frame as the rest of the series. It is the model you choose when what stands behind the screen matters as much as what is shown on it.

Two pitches, and why

The double figure in the name is not a range: it is a geometry. On a transparent screen the LEDs sit on horizontal strips, spaced vertically apart from one another. The horizontal pitch — the distance between two dots on the same strip — is tight. The vertical pitch — the distance between two strips — is deliberately wider, because that gap between strips is what creates the transparency.

Hence a consequence few datasheets explain: the pixel grid is not square. The 1 × 2 metre surface carries 352 × 352 pixels, or 61,952 pixels per square metre. As many dots across as down, on a surface twice as tall as it is wide. An image will never be displayed one-to-one: it is resampled, and a circle becomes an oval if the content was not produced at the right ratio.

Distance is calculated on the wider pitch

This is the classic mistake with dual-pitch transparent screens. It is not the stated 2.8 mm that sets the minimum viewing distance, it is the vertical spacing between strips. Allow a comfort distance of about 9.8 metres and full detail resolution around 19.5 metres. Below ten metres the eye picks out the horizontal lines and the image reads like a luminous venetian blind.

Construction

Aluminium frame 1,000 × 2,093 × 90 mm, 20 kg, 29.5 kg in the wheeled version. SMD1921 LEDs, 500 × 125 mm modules, 11 scan, 3,840 Hz refresh, 140° / 140° angle, 4,500 nits, consumption 240 W/m² average, 800 W/m² peak.

Position in the range

For closer viewing, the GLASSTEC 3.9 brings the comfort distance back to 6.7 metres on a square grid, at the cost of ten points of transparency. The GLASSTEC 3.4 goes down to 6 metres. For a fixed transparent wall at very high transparency, the GHOST 3.9 – 7.8 reaches 75 %.

Technical Expertise

Use Cases

  • Product display to be preserved — the screen sits in front of a set piece that must stay identifiable. This is the case where the extra ten points of transparency genuinely show.

  • Glazed lobby and interior facade — viewed from ten metres and beyond across the space, with the building's perspective kept behind the image.

  • Scenography and stage set — the screen hints at what happens behind it, often the intended effect rather than a solid display.

  • Atrium and mezzanine — poster suspended in a volume, seen from far and from both sides, without blocking circulation or light.

  • Events and trade shows — wheeled version, moved by two people, and transparency that avoids partitioning a stand.

Technical Tips

  • Distance de vision optimale : 2.8 m à 8.4 m.
  • Dimensionnement : surface multiple de la dalle native pour éviter les découpes.
  • Stock SAV : 2 à 3 % de modules de spare recommandés.
