Category: LED Screen Indoor

Pitch : 2.5 mm

Description

THE RING 2.5 is the reference in the Pixelight circular range built for long developed lengths. A 2.5 mm pitch and 160,000 pixels per square metre move the question: no longer how fine the image can be, but how much curved surface can be built without the budget running away.

The usual pitch-to-distance conversion puts comfortable reading from around 2.5 m. On a ring several metres across, suspended in an atrium or wrapping a mezzanine, no visitor ever stands closer. The definition is set by real use rather than by a datasheet line.

Like the rest of the range, the surface is built from flexible 320 × 160 × 8.6 mm modules with SMD1515 packages. The flexible module is the product: it is what makes complete circles, arcs, double-sided rings, columns, helices and free curves buildable, each set out along the true developed length of the drawing.

On a circular form every extra metre of diameter adds more than three metres of developed screen, so cost per square metre decides which shapes are possible at all. Indoor, 800 nits, 3840 Hz refresh. Discounted pricing for resellers.

Technical Expertise

Use Cases

Projects that call for THE RING 2.5

The ground for this pitch: large curved surfaces, seen from a real standback.

  • Large atrium rings: circles several metres in diameter suspended in an open volume, where the developed length drives the budget.
  • Mezzanine and walkway surrounds: long continuous curves following a balustrade, seen from the level below.
  • Scenography and museums: spirals, tiered rings and compound curves, where module count rises with the complexity of the design.
  • Shopping centres: wayfinding and animation rings above the flow, read at a distance and on the move.
  • Indoor events: 3840 Hz ensures clean capture of live shows staged under the ring.

Technical Tips

PIXELIGHT technical guidance — THE RING 2.5

  • Measure the unrolled circle, never the projected area: one extra metre of diameter adds more than three metres of developed length. That is the gap that derails ring budgets.
  • Determine the dominant viewpoint before the pitch: on a ring suspended high, the real observation distance often exceeds the pitch's comfort range. A finer pitch would be paid for without being seen.
  • Have compound curves validated upfront: spirals and tiered rings multiply the joints. Feasibility is checked on the drawing, before the supporting structure is built.
  • Use the headroom of the 800 nits: in an atrium, plan the exposure survey and the commissioning setting to avoid a visible gap between the lit and shaded sections of the same ring.
  • Size the video chain on the total resolution of the shape: a long developed length accumulates a lot of pixels. The controller is chosen after the layout, not before.

Frequently Asked Questions

Comment installer un écran LED géant THE RING 2.5 ?
