FAQ

What throw distance can I expect? It depends on the 20° optic and the 60 W output - typically 5 to 25 m. Beyond that range, move up in wattage or choose a narrower beam angle.

Is a gobo supplied? One standard gobo is included. Custom gobos - your logo, a slogan, a seasonal pattern - are available as an option, in glass or metal.

Included in the delivery

  • BLP60E-R projector

  • 1 standard gobo

  • Mounting bracket and fixings

  • Installation guide

  • 2-year warranty

Technical Expertise

How big is the image at a given distance?

The projected image diameter depends only on the beam angle and the distance: D = 2 × d × tan(angle / 2). At 10 m, a 9° optic gives 1.57 m, a 20° optic 3.53 m and a 45° optic 8.28 m. The exact angle fitted to this 60 W reference is to be confirmed at order, based on the intended throw distance.

Because the gobo rotates on this version, the image sweeps a disc of that diameter: size the projection surface on the full figure, not on the height of the motif alone.

Choosing the wattage

60 W targets long throws or brightly lit backgrounds: a building facade, a forecourt, a large floor area in a bright lobby.

Image illuminance falls with the square of the distance: doubling the throw divides brightness by four. Conversely, holding the same image brightness while moving back requires power to rise with the square of the distance — going from 20 W to 40 W buys roughly 40% more throw, not twice as much.

Outdoors, the practical rule is to project after dark onto a light, matt surface, and to avoid dark, glossy or already-lit walls, which crush contrast whatever the power.

Use Cases

Typical applications

  • Projecting a logo or message onto any light surface, replacing a printed sign

  • Signage that changes without building work: swap the gobo

  • Seasonal lighting decor renewed without a new installation

  • Permanent outdoor installation, IP65: facade, canopy, pole, forecourt, terrace

  • A rotating motif, to catch the eye where a static image goes unnoticed

In every case, readability depends first on contrast: a light, matt surface with little other light on it beats a higher wattage thrown onto a dark or glossy background.

Technical Tips

Installation and operation

  • Gobo rotation is motorised: allow clearance around the optic and check that the logo reads correctly through the whole rotation.

  • Focus on the lens ring at the final throw distance: an image sharp at 3 m is no longer sharp at 8 m.

  • One standard gobo is supplied. Custom gobos come in metal (cut motif, single colour, very durable) and glass (colours, gradients, photographic). Glass is essential as soon as more than one colour is involved.

  • IP65 covers dust and water jets: the unit stays outdoors all year. Clean the front lens twice a year — a film of dust costs more brightness than people expect.

  • 220-240 V supply, stated MTBF 25,000 h. Switch it with the site lighting rather than running it permanently: useful LED life is extended accordingly.
