Description
The SUNLITE 6.9 OUT M is the 6.9 mm outdoor panel in a cabinet seventy-five centimetres wide by one metre high. It is the range's only portrait format, and it exists for a precise reason: vertical supports.
At an actual pitch of 6.944 mm, this cabinet carries exactly 108 × 144 pixels, at the 20,736 pixels per square metre density common to the whole 6.9 series.
Three quarters of a metre, and why that is the right width
A totem, a mast, a business-park entrance pylon, a display column: these supports are rarely a metre wide. Most often they are between seventy centimetres and a metre, because that is the width a free-standing vertical structure holds without an oversized foundation. A one-metre cabinet overhangs; a fifty-centimetre cabinet forces you to double the uprights.
The seventy-five-centimetre format lands squarely on this family of supports, and it stacks vertically without limit: two cabinets give 108 × 288 pixels over two metres, three cabinets 108 × 432 over three metres.
Portrait format changes the composition
A vertical screen is not filled like a horizontal one. The eye travels it top to bottom, the message fits in little width, and panoramic video has no place on it. In exchange, 108 pixels of width allow text across the full width — thirteen characters in eight-pixel capitals — which is enough for a price, a time, a direction or a headline word.
Construction
SMD LEDs for outdoor use, 1/6 scan, 6,500 K colour temperature, 750 × 1,000 mm cabinet. Grid invisible from 11.9 metres, full detail resolved at 23.7 metres.
Position in the range
For a wide solid surface, the SUNLITE 6.9 OUT XL in a one-square-metre cabinet installs faster. For a horizontal band, the SUNLITE 6.9 OUT L is the right format.
Technical Expertise
Use Cases
Retail or business park entrance totem — two to three stacked cabinets, read from an access road at twenty metres and beyond. The portrait format follows the support structure.
Digital street furniture and display column — installed on public land, strong foundation constraints, short scheduled content.
Mast or pylon cladding — width imposed by the existing support, height adjustable one metre at a time by stacking.
Directional signage for car parks or industrial sites — arrows, availability, tariffs. Thirteen characters per line is enough, and the coarse pitch holds legibility at distance.
Double-sided totem at a junction — the two faces must be driven separately and the enclosure ventilated right through.
Technical Tips
Size the foundation before the height. Overturning moment grows with the square of height: going from two to three cabinets costs far more than a third more concrete.
Ventilate the enclosure right through on double-sided units. Two panels back to back in a closed volume heat up and LED life collapses.
Drive the two faces separately. They do not receive the same sunlight; a common setting is bound to dazzle one side at night.
Validate the graphic template to scale before installation. Print the mock-up 108 dots wide and look at it from three metres: that thirty-second test prevents an illegible delivery.
Allow thirteen characters per line maximum. Over 108 pixels at eight-pixel cap height, that is the physical limit. The medium is a sign, not an information screen.
On a totem estate, the cost is in the ground, not the control room. Ten totems total only 466,560 pixels: one asynchronous player drives them all. The budget goes into civil works and connections.
