Description
NovaStar CC60 — the generation above the C3200
The CC60 is the scientific calibration camera NovaStar has been featuring since 2025, positioned above the C3200. A 61-megapixel sensor, CIE-XYZ filters matched to the human eye response, and a stated accuracy of ±2 % in luminance and ±0.002 in chromaticity — better than the C3200.
Specifications
Sensor: 61 megapixels
Filters: CIE-XYZ, matched to the human eye response
Accuracy: luminance ±2 %, chromaticity ±0.002
Measurement: pixel-level luminance and colour on MiniLED and microLED, in cabinet and full-screen calibration
Software: CC3
Ecosystem cited by NovaStar: KU20, MX40 Pro and COEX controllers, A10s Pro receiving card
Stated performance: around 0.25 h against around 4 h with traditional methods, resulting uniformity above 98.5 %
Dimensions, weight, lens and power: not published by NovaStar
Technical Expertise
NovaStar CC60 — technical analysis
The argument is time. NovaStar states a calibration task cut from around four hours to a quarter of an hour, for resulting uniformity above 98.5 %. On a service invoiced by the day, that ratio changes the economics: it is no longer an exceptional intervention reserved for very large projects, it is a service that can be built into standard commissioning.
Two points on naming and documentation. NovaStar officially calls this product "CC60": the "NOS-CC60" reference found at some resellers appears on no manufacturer source. And NovaStar publishes no dimensions, weight, lens or power figures so far — we will not invent them. We obtain those from our NovaStar channel for any binding project.
Use Cases
- MiniLED and microLED calibration — pixel-level measurement in cabinet and full screen.
- Commissioning services — measurable uniformity above 98.5 %.
- Recalibration contracts — recurring revenue with reduced intervention time.
- Studio and broadcast — CIE-XYZ filters for reference colorimetry.
- Upgrade from the C3200 — higher accuracy and speed.
Technical Tips
- Official name: CC60 — the "NOS-CC60" reference is a reseller designation, absent from NovaStar sources.
- Partial documentation — dimensions, weight, lens and power not published: we obtain them on request.
- Time saving — the central argument: around 0.25 h against 4 h with traditional methods.
- Ecosystem — NovaStar cites the KU20, MX40 Pro and COEX controllers with the A10s Pro card.
- Sold with a service — like the C3200, the value is in the invoiced commissioning, not the hardware.
