Description
The COBRA PRO 2.6 XL is an indoor rental panel in a 500 × 1,000 mm format, curvable, with an actual pitch of 2.604 mm. That figure is not commercial rounding: it is 250 divided by 96, and everything else follows from it.
Ten panels make exactly 1,920 pixels
Each 250 × 250 mm module carries 96 × 96 pixels, and the full panel 192 × 384 pixels. Twenty panels in a row therefore make exactly 3,840 pixels, and ten panels exactly 1,920.
In other words: a 5-metre-wide wall is natively the width of a Full HD source, and a 10-metre wall that of a 4K source. The feed goes in without scaling, pixel for pixel. On a stage, in a conference room or a studio, that removes resampling softness, artefacts on fine text and approximate mapping maths in one go.
It is an advantage that does not show on a spec sheet and is immediately visible on screen, particularly on slides, graphic overlays or a logo with hard edges.
A rental cabinet, not an installation wall
The 500 × 1,000 mm format, the 11.9 kg weight and the curving capability place this product on the production side: repeated build-ups and strikes, geometries that change from one event to the next, back into the flight case.
Curving is what matters most in a fleet: a flat panel only makes flat walls, a curvable panel makes both. Concave to wrap an audience, convex for a central island or a column, flat the rest of the time — from the same stock.
Black lamps, and what they change in a room
The LEDs are SMD1515 with a black package and copper wire. The black package drops the surface grey between unlit pixels: at equal brightness, black is deeper and whites stand out more.
Indoors, that is more useful than extra nits. A stage backdrop or conference set almost always carries wide dark areas, and that is where the difference lies between a wall that looks switched on and a wall that looks switched off when it should. The copper wire improves heat dissipation and limits colour drift over time — a real concern for a fleet in rotation.
What the eye sees
Density is 147,456 pixels per square metre. The grid stops being visible at 4.5 metres and fine detail is fully resolved at 9 metres.
That is the range of a conference room, a corporate lobby, a TV studio, a stage backdrop seen from the front rows. Below 4.5 m — a wall the audience walks past at arm's length — you need to go finer.
1,000 nits: a room screen, not a window screen
One thousand nits corresponds to a controlled interior: artificial lighting, indirect daylight, a darkened room. It is more than enough to hold up against stage lighting and to be filmed without overexposure.
It is not, however, a shop window panel or one for a daylit area behind glazing. A panel run permanently at 100 % of its brightness ages faster and drifts in colour sooner; good practice is to size it to run at around 60 to 70 %.
Weight, depth and power
The panel weighs 11.9 kg for 90 mm of depth, or 24 kg/m². A 5 × 3 m wall — 30 panels, 15 m² — comes to 357 kg and displays 1,920 × 1,152 pixels.
On consumption, allow 200 W/m² average and 600 W/m² peak: roughly 3 kW in normal operation on that 15 m² wall, and 9 kW at peak. As always, it is the peak that sizes the electrical installation, not the average.
Refresh rate and camera work
At 7,680 Hz refresh and 14-bit greyscale, the panel films without scan lines at usual shutter speeds and holds clean gradients in low light — the point that genuinely separates indoor panels as soon as a camera enters the room.
The 140° / 140° viewing angle is symmetrical: the panel behaves the same way horizontally and vertically, which matters on a tall wall seen from floor level, where a narrow vertical angle would drop brightness in the upper rows.
Build
Curvable cabinet 500 × 1,000 × 90 mm, 250 × 250 mm modules, 11.9 kg per panel (24 kg/m²), black-package SMD1515 LEDs with copper wire, 1,000 nits, 7,680 Hz refresh, 14-bit greyscale, 1/24 scan, 140° / 140° viewing angle, 6,500 K colour temperature, 220-240 V supply, −10 °C to +50 °C operating range.
Every panel ships factory calibrated and fitted with a Novastar A8s-N receiving card: a panel added later joins an existing fleet without recalibrating the wall.
Where it sits in the range
On the same panel geometry, the ATMOS 2.6 XL covers the same pitch on a more economical footing, and the ATMOS 1.9 XL drops to 1.95 mm for short viewing distances. For sharper curvature and more brightness, the PROSTAGE 2.6 IN reaches 1,600 nits.
Technical Expertise
State-of-the-Art Visual Performance
At the heart of the COBRA PRO 2.6 XL is its advanced electronics suite, headlined by an industry-leading refresh rate of 7680Hz. This ultra-high refresh rate eliminates flicker and scan lines, ensuring the display is fully broadcast-ready and flicker-free for high-speed camera capture. Utilizing high-quality SMD1515 (Surface Mounted Device) LEDs, the panel achieves a wide viewing angle and exceptional color mixing.
Advanced LED Architecture
- SMD Technology: The SMD1515 LEDs provide a high contrast ratio and deep black levels, essential for cinematic indoor content.
- Visual Consistency: Each module undergoes rigorous factory calibration to ensure uniformity in chromaticity and luminance across the entire batch.
- Thermal Management: The XL chassis is designed for optimal heat dissipation, extending the lifespan of the diodes and preventing color shifting over time.
While standard panels often struggle with grayscale at low brightness, the COBRA PRO 2.6 XL maintains a high bit-depth, preserving detail in shadows and highlights alike. This technical edge ensures that your content remains immersive and true-to-life regardless of the brightness setting.
Use Cases
Versatile Indoor Applications
The COBRA PRO 2.6 XL is engineered for versatility across several high-end indoor sectors:
- Corporate & Boardrooms: Deliver high-impact presentations and video conferences with text clarity that rivals traditional monitors.
- Retail Excellence: Create immersive flagship store experiences with vivid brand imagery that captures customer attention.
- TV Studios & Broadcast: Thanks to the 7680Hz refresh rate, this panel is the ideal backdrop for newsrooms and talk shows, avoiding any interference with professional cameras.
- Trade Shows & Events: The robust XL structure allows for rapid assembly and disassembly, providing a reliable solution for high-end rental-style permanent installations.
- Control Rooms: Reliable 24/7 operation and fine pitch allow operators to monitor complex data and video feeds with zero eye strain.
Technical Tips
Technical Optimization & Maintenance
To maximize the performance of your COBRA PRO 2.6 XL installation, consider the following technical guidelines:
- Optimal Viewing Distance: With a 2.6mm pitch, the ideal minimum viewing distance is approximately 2.5 to 3 meters, making it perfect for retail and conference settings.
- Power Management: Ensure a stable power supply distribution. We recommend using high-quality PDU systems to manage the inrush current during startup.
- Controller Configuration: This display is compatible with leading processing brands like Novastar. For 7680Hz performance, ensure your receiving card configuration files (RCFGX) are optimized for high-refresh driving ICs.
- Maintenance: The COBRA PRO series supports efficient front-service access. Use a vacuum suction tool for module removal to prevent damage to the SMD1515 edges.
